Cthulhu Mythos is based on the world of Howard Phillips Lovecrafts novels and was organized by his contemporary journalist and protégé August William Dressraft. An overhead myth system created by the settings and ideas of Ford and other authors. The name Cthulhu comes from Lovecrafts short story "The Call of Cthulhu"
